Best of 2014 Weddings

January 2nd, 2015

2014 was a good year, full of travel, amazing weddings and incredible couples. I always feel so lucky I get to enter into peoples lives and document the most important day of their life. I've met so many rad people and have had opportunities to work with the best vendors in the industry. With our third baby born this year, I didn't blog often enough so I tried grabbing snippets from the weddings I documented.

2015 is going to be so good. I know it.

Yosemite Wedding

December 5th, 2014

Yosemite is a special place and to have your wedding there is nothing short of remarkable. I had the good fortune to be able to document Jami and Aaron's wedding in the forest of Yosemite, then got to wander down into the valley for some portraits. They were such a sweet coule, so in love, and magic happened.

I loved that one of their main ideas of Yosemite for their wedding was that they plan on taking their kids back year after year and be able to say, 'this is where mom and dad got married.' I thought that was a fun thing to get to do.

See more of their wedding over on Green Wedding Shoes which featured a ton of photos!

Molly Sims Thanksgiving Shoot

November 27th, 2014

Molly Sims is an actress, model, mom, homemaker and blogger and teamed up with Zola Registry, she curated an amazing Thanksgiving meal at the amazing Lombardi House.  Food was prepared by Heriloom LA, Florals by The Velvet Garden and tabletop products supplied by Zola.

I loved the non-traditional food Molly chose and prepared by Heirloom. From Salmon, to pumpkin Lasagna cupcakes, to salad, it was incredible. Here are some pics from the day.

Alexis Revercomb - Sparked with electric ccioentnon homey!!! I'm not an avid hip hop collector and that's solely due to my lack of appreciation for rap that's ain't smart. God, GOOD hip hop is like a drug. The beats hook you and the word play and layers of thought within your lines combined with the layers of music your Voice hugs and then plays with Needless to say, discovering Common Matter and Victor Shade today has made my month of October more exciting (i'll be able to financially support y'al's artwork with a j.o.b.3.) (so there's additional questions )If you and your compadres/compadras take the plunge into an east coast tour==I have well conncetec fans in key music spots in Charleston, Athens, and Asheville. The Dirty South esp Chucktown has a large group hippin' and hoppin' snobs! They'll eat you up and want to take (you) and your music home for desert.4.) do you ever battle using tongue and wit? if yes, i'm curious to hear who you have battled.5.) ***How awesome would it be if we could get You (and other H&H masters) into elementary schools for show and tell and then maybe some free-styling at recess?? What a positive role-model you would be. Kids love those dancey H&H grooves, but pop's lyrics are s&%^&*&( you know? we can open brains up and show that yes, it's cool to be smart or a little nerdy cause knowledge is power. Oh Dear! I'm not sorry for the short story I just wrote just a bit embarrassed. But it's worth it. Repeat after me: Ready? I, Victor Shade, will do my best, in the next year, soas to tour the east coast schools at day, and nightclubs at night. (good thing you're a super-hero)Peace and Love,Alexis LaBarge Revercomb

Santa Barbara Chic Wedding :: Beach and Barn

October 23rd, 2014

Julie and Paul's wedding was recently featured in The Knot Magazine and excited to finally share their photos. Everything was designed, planned and coordinated by the Sterling Social team, who I love working with. From the ceremony on a bluff, overlooking the ocean, to a gorgeous cocktail hour on the beach with a couple bars set up, a meat and cheese station to a raw bar, then finishing it off in the old barn at Dos Pueblos. Stunning event with catering by Contemporary Catering.
